Dry eye, everything you need to know!
We are pleased to announce the opening of our new office in the Torre Médica del Tesoro, where we will offer specialized Audiology services.
More than 700,000 people suffer from disabling hearing loss and require treatment. Did you know that the prevalence of hearing loss increases with age? Among those over 60 years of age, more than 25% suffer from disabling hearing loss.
Early detection is the key to proper treatment.
What is dry eye?
Dry eye is a disease in which there is an imbalance in the tear production, which is the external lubrication element of the eye, either due to insufficiency or poor quality, producing symptoms such as redness, burning, sensation of a foreign body or grit, pain, eye fatigue, difficulty wearing contact lenses, sensitivity to light and poor vision.
How are dry eye problems diagnosed?
The diagnosis is based on the symptoms of the patient, the evaluation of the ocular surface in the office, and an examination by specialized equipment that allows us to know the characteristics of the tear system and the condition of the meibomian glands.

Its development is gradual, so in the first instances it is difficult due to the mildness of the symptoms, in other cases it can be confused with other ocular and/or systemic diseases.
